There are material, psychological and every day’s effects of the race on people

There are material, psychological and every day’s effects of the race on people

There are people who insist that the race is socially constructed, so the variation of the different people of different race is meaningless except the social meaning (Collins & Williams 2015). However, they do not see the material, psychological and every day’s effects of the race.

On hearing this, I am confused that is there only the social meaning of the race in the human society? And if the social meaning is the only kind of the meaning of the race, then why do a lot of people fight for the race equity? Do they merely hope to pursue the race equity in the level of social meaning?

In the society, all the movements and campaign are motived by some factors including the interests which are the most original contributors of the movement or the campaign (Gillborn, Youdell & Kirton 1999). As a matter of fact, the campaign begins aiming to achieve the final goal of the people who launch it and it ends when the goal is achieved or gained (Ouellet 2007)). Taking this into consideration, it can be guessed that there are some deep reasons of the pursuit of race equity.

Why many people especially the people whose race is treated in an unequal way, fight for their rights? There must be some reason.

According to the report, it is stated that there are material, psychological and every day effects on the people who are troubled by the race problem.

First, it is stated that there are material effects on the race problem. On one hand, the race that is discriminated in the society also face employment problems. For instance, the black people and the Asians can find it very hard to find a position in the US because they are unfairly treated by the employers. In addition, there is also evidence which shows that the average wages of the black people in the US is lower than the white person by 12 percent which is a huge gap.

Second, it is said that the race also cause psychological problems in the society. Discriminated by the society, the black people also troubled in the mental area. For instance, the children of the discriminated race are not willing to play with the other people and they tend to have psychological problems in their lives, because they are so afraid of the jokes of their fellows (Vol 2005).

Third, the effects of the race can be seen every day. According to my personal experience, some of my fellows who belong to the minority race are often troubled by the race problem. No matter in school or in the road, they tend to be amused by other people.

I am very confused by the phenomenon why some people discriminate the black people and some Asians are looked down in the daily life. Are they not belonging to the humans? Are they disabling to finish the tasks? I do not hold the negative answer.

In the future, if they still discriminate the black people or the Asians, please think about the consequences and the reasons first.
