Trump and Ali

Donald Trump has come under fire for his hypocritical tribute to the late great Muhammad Ali. Trump mourned the death of Muhammad Ali with a tweet that said, “Muhammad Ali is dead at 74! A truly great champion and a wonderful guy. He will be missed by all!” Trump tweeted this despite last year publically calling for all Muslims to be banned from entering the United States, to which Ali replied at the time with a statement entitled ‘Presidential Candidates Proposing to Ban Muslim Immigration to the United States’ in which he said, “we as Muslims have to stand up to those who use Islam to advance their own personal agenda. I am a Muslim and there is nothing Islamic about killing innocent people in Paris, San Bernardino, or anywhere else in the world. True Muslims know that the ruthless violence of so called Islamic Jihadists goes against the very tenets of our religion.” It’s no secret Trump is overtly racist with his stance on Muslims and illegal immigrants in the United States of America.

Here is a quote from the greatest on racism:

"Why are all the angels white? Why ain't there no black angels?" - Ali at a church in 1983.

On war:

“I got nothing against no Viet Cong. No Vietnamese ever called me a nigger.”

On white people:

“There are many white people who mean right and in their hearts wanna do right. If 10,000 snakes were coming down that aisle now, and I had a door that I could shut, and in that 10,000, 1,000 meant right, 1,000 rattlesnakes didn’t want to bite me, I knew they were good… Should I let all these rattlesnakes come down, hoping that that thousand get together and form a shield? Or should I just close the door and stay safe?”

“Boxing is a lot of white men watching two black men beat each other up.”

  1. I think its very interesting when an individual running for president be so hypocritical in public, and not lose support for it. It shows that Trump supports are not supporting him for his ideas, but what the trump name means to them aka money.
