The media should be responsible for the racism

The media should take its responsibility for the development of the racism. As a matter of fact, as the development of the social media, the message delivered in the process does not only maintain the breaking news but also the racism (Iltis 2015).

It is reported that an anti-racism association named Kick It Out has conducted a research on the social media. The survey analyzes the social media posts discriminatory against English Premier League football club, the club's fans and players. According to the result of the research, there are 20000 comments which attack Chelsea team and Arsenal attack British-born black player Welbeck Posts reached more than 1700, about half of the racist posts (Dandy & Pepua 2015).

In my opinion, it is the rights of the social media users to comment on the players and the bad performance of them should be criticized. However, as the result shows, the comment is full of racism which cannot be tolerated at all and the social media should be responsible for that. I doubt the real intentions of those comments on the black players which are really excellent. Although they sometimes act poor, the comment is too much for them. Among the comment, there are comments like that the black is expected to be poor and I cannot bear such comments.

When I witness the comments which are full of racism, I want to ask the commenters some question:

Is there a relationship between playing football and the skin color?

Is there no excellent football player of black skin?

The white can always play football well, cannot they?

What is your evidence that support your injustice comments?

I am rather angry that the racism is further developed in the social media area. As a matter of fact, with the help of the Internet, the positive information is to be delivered (Poynting 2003). However, due to the lack of direction and bad intentions, the racism is even maintained in the social media.

I think there are always people who hold the prejudice to the black and I want to express my anger in the blog text. In fact, with the advancement of the society, there are fewer people who hold prejudice to the black people and the racism is decreasing day by day. That is absolutely the advancement and development of the human civilization. However, the social media goes against the trend, why?

In my opinion, the lack of proper regulations and managements is the root cause of the current conditions which are demonstrated at the very beginning.

Also, the negative conditions of the social media which is spreading the racism can still be changed. For instance, if the comments can be examined before they are seen by the other people in the social media, the negative impacts and the spread of the racism can be avoid to a great extent. In addition, there should be more and more people who modify the wrong comments rich in racism. By doing this, the negative impacts the social media on the racism can be eliminated.
